Club des Partenaires: "Why women do not take off from the sticky floor?"
PWN Paris held its quarterly Club des Partenaires meeting on 5 February, hosted at Bird & Bird.
After opening its network to men in 2019, PWN Paris invited women and men from partner companies and institutions to discuss on the topic "Why women do not take off from the sticky floor?".
We had up to 50 people joining us, including our partners Orange, Total, ESCP, Fox Gestion d’actifs, Bird & Bird, Hotel de l’Industrie, Administration Moderne, Axway et ISEP.
Cécile Bernheim, member of PWN Paris Advisory Board and Gender Balance Lead, invited Teddy Dewitte, Associate General Director at Fox Gestion d’Actifs, to introduce the Fund ‘Valeurs Féminines Global’ which only invests in companies led by women. Teddy Dewitte presented fascinating figures on the great performance of these companies.
In the 2nd part of the session, Cécile Bernheim facilitated a workshop to discuss the topic in small groups. After lively exchanges, each group shared their insights including comments on limits which women impose on themselves, or their too small presence in professional networks and unconscious bias, but also suggestions on initiatives that have to be taken by the women, and more importantly by their companies and by institutions : from the importance of sisterhood to risk taking, from the roles of HR and the Boards and the importance of quotas and data publication. Cécile had all these insights put together into a working document and encouraged us to take it back to our workplace and think how to put them into action.
Many thanks to our host, speakers, partners and to all participants for this inspiring session!
