Welcome to Hortense Faisandel PWN Paris Develop new Vice President

Holding a degree in engineering, I have worked as project manager in various technical fields, including tech (network & software development), both in France and Canada.

While mixity is progressing in many organizations, I observed during my studies and in the management lines of jobs I have held, that a lot remains to be done. At the occasion of a company program, I started to get involved in initiatives to inspire young girls to embrace STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers.

Being well-connected in my company and my technical field, I recently decided to broaden my network to grow more. Looking for inspiration, I realized that a leader I admire is a PWN Member. As I was impressed by the various offers, I decided to enroll in the highly regarded mentoring program.

As a mentee, I had the opportunity for an entire year to explore some beliefs and behaviours that were holding me back. Thanks to the continuous support of my mentor, I was able to develop new skills and even dared to take more responsibilities within PWN and applied to lead the Develop pillar.

Through the mentoring and the professional development programs of PWN Paris, we have a chance to start with what is under our control to close the gap: our own skills, mindset, and beliefs. Leading these programs is, for me, a chance to work with the teams to provide the most valuable experience for our members. My objective is to create a safe environment and multiple learning opportunities for our members, both women and men, to develop their skills and mindset to reach their next career goals.

Volunteering in PWN Paris, is for me an incredible opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired, grow my network, while doing more and giving back. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking to contribute while networking. Now, I’m looking forward to connecting to all the members I'm still to meet.
